It is characterised by the presence of neps (intentional knots) and has an airy softness and warm, rustic texture due to the slow, careful weaving process. There are currently only two weaving companies in Japan, and production of this very precious fabric is limited due to the many manual processes involved. It has a light touch and excellent moisture absorption and breathability, making it cool in summer and warm in winter. The more you use it, the softer it becomes and the more you can enjoy its texture as it ages.
